OBJECTIVES
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
? Identify the needs of the altered mental status (AMS) patient, family, and caregiver.
? Evaluate and educate the patient, family and caregiver regarding altered mental status (AMS).
? Explore the feelings, beliefs, and attitudes regarding the care of AMS patient.
? Discuss the available options to control the out of control patient and to prevent adverse events.
? Apply evidence based decision to nursing the AMS patient.

$50 for non members; No fee for AHEC members
CREDIT
0.3 CEUs, 3 clock hours-AHEC
Upstate AHEC is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the South Carolina Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center?s Commission on Accreditation.
Upon successful completion of this program, attendees will receive 3 contact hours.
