The Alzheimer's Association SC Chapter is hosting a workshop entitled, ?Alzheimer?s disease: Know the signs, prepare for the journey?,
Thursday, April 8, 9:00am-1:00pm, at Greer City Hall, 301 E. Poinsett Street, Greer SC.
The agenda will include:

? Powerpoint/video presentation on:
o Warning signs, reducing your risk of developing dementia; working with your doctor for diagnosis and treatment; why early detection of Alzheimer?s disease is important
? Interactive panel/audience discussion:
o Panelist include Pharmicist, DiAndra Brooks; Caregiver, Lucien Richardson; Chaplain, Dr. George West; and Geriatric Nurse, Barb Barham
o Topics include: medications and treatment; getting a diagnosis; family dynamics; emotional and spiritual issues; practical care giving skills; etc.

Light breakfast and a bag lunch will be served, provided by Lutheran Hospice and RoseCrest Continuing Care Retirement Community. There is NO COST for this workshop. Pre-registration is required, space is limited. A no-cost, in-home sitter can be arranged for family members to attend this event.
