Purpose: To provide a better understanding of bone and blood transplant and related treatments.

OBJECTIVES
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
? Discuss the past and future role of Bone and Blood Transplant.
? Identify infectious complications of allogeneic and autologous stem cell transplant patients.
? Describe the referral process, screening and eligibility requirements of the bone and blood transplant patient.
? Describe the transplant treatment phases.
? Describe the support systems for patients and caregivers.
TARGET AUDIENCE
Licensed Nurses, social workers, registered dietitians, respiratory therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and others interested in bone and marrow transplant.
FEE
$50 for non members; $0 for AHEC members

CREDIT
0.3 CEUs, 3 clock hours-AHEC
Licensed Nurses: Upstate AHEC is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by The South Carolina Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center?s Commission on Accreditation.
Upon successful completion of this program, attendees will receive 3 contact hours.
Social Workers: This program has been approved for 3 clock hours of non-social work continuing education by Upstate AHEC, as part of the SC AHEC system, under its accreditation by the SC Board of Social Work Examiners.
Registered Dietitians: 3 hours of CPE for registered dietitians.
Respiratory Therapists: 3 clock hours will be awarded by Upstate AHEC, an approved provider of continuing education for respiratory care practitioners by the SC Board of Medical Examiners.
Occupational Therapists: This program has been approved for 3.6 contact hours of continuing education for Occupational Therapists. SC AHEC has presumptive approval as a provider of continuing education for Occupational Therapists by the SC Board of Examiners for Occupational Therapy.
Physical Therapists: This program has been approved for 3.6 contact hours of continuing education by SC AHEC under its accreditation by the SC Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation Board of Examiners for Physical Therapy.
Others: This program is approved for 0.3 CEUs (3 clock hours) by Upstate AHEC and meets the SC AHEC Best Practice Standards.
