2 Day Course - Thursday & Friday, March 3 & 4, 2011

OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:
? Describe, with the anatomy and physiology of the cardiac system, the assessment and emergency nursing care of the patient with cardiac emergencies.
? Describe, with the anatomy and physiology of the gastrointestinal system , the assessment and emergency nursing care of the patient with GI emergencies.
? Describe the assessment and emergency nursing care of the patient with maxillofacial and ocular emergencies.
? Describe the assessment and emergency nursing care of the patient with neurological emergencies.
? Describe the assessment and emergency nursing care of the patient with orthopedic/wound emergencies.
? Describe the assessment and emergency nursing care of the patient with psychological and social emergencies.
? Describe, with the anatomy and physiology of the pulmonary system, the assessment and emergency nursing care of the patient with pulmonary emergencies.
? Describe, with assessment, the multiple areas of patient care management and emergency nursing care.
? Describe the assessment and emergency nursing care of the patient with substance abuse, toxicological or general environmental emergencies.
? Describe the assessment and emergency nursing care of the patient with multi-system trauma and/or shock.
? Describe the assessment and emergency nursing care of the patient with general medical emergencies.
? Discuss the professional issues, legal implications and emergency nursing care of various pertinent concepts.
? Describe, with the anatomy and physiology of the Genitourinary system, the assessment and emergency nursing care of the patient with GU/GYN/OB emergencies.

TARGET AUDIENCE
Licensed Registered Nurses preparing to take the Certified Emergency Nurses (CEN) Exam

FEE
$150 for non-members, $50 for AHEC members

Upstate AHEC is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the South Carolina Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center?s Commission on Accreditation.

Upon successful completion of this program, attendees will receive 12 contact hours.
