End of Life Care: Grief, Loss, and Bereavement

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

? Describe the grieving process including types, stages and factors which influence adaptation.
? Describe the process of assessment for grieving and grief responses.
? Discuss maladaptive responses in the grieving process and complicated grieving.
? Describe interventions that may be appropriate to facilitate normal grief and referral process for complicated grief.
? Define personal death awareness and cumulative loss associated with professional care-giving.

TARGET AUDIENCE Licensed Nurses, Counselors and Therapist, Social Workers and interested others.
FEE $50 for non members; No fee for AHEC members

CREDIT 0.3 CEUs, 3 clock hours-AHEC, Non Social Work, Counselors and Therapists
Upstate AHEC is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the South Carolina Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center?s Commission on Accreditation.
Upon successful completion of this program, attendees will receive 3 contact hours.
