Hemodynamic Monitoring

Purpose: To provide participants with the skills necessary for hemodynamic monitoring.

Upon completion, participants will be able to:
? Describe invasive hemodynamic monitoring.
? Discuss the indications for use, care and maintenance of the pulmonary artery catheter as well as at least 3 complications.
? Discuss set-up and troubleshooting basics for invasive monitoring.
? Discuss appropriate waveforms for RA, RV, PCWP and normal values.
? Discuss and define preload, afterload and contractility.
? Interpret normal and abnormal hemodynamic profiles and appropriate response to findings.

Licensed Nurses

$50 for non members; No Fee for AHEC members

Licensed Nurses: Upstate AHEC is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by The South Carolina Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center?s Commission on Accreditation.

Upon successful completion of this program, attendees will receive 3 contact hours.
