At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:
? Describe the role the military played in defining criteria for this mental illness.
? Identify diagnostic criteria for this mental illness.
? List 3 or more characteristics that make diagnosis difficult.
? Discuss the role our upbringing and scripting plays in creating this internal conflict.
? Utilize questions to help identify this problem.
? Discuss current thought about how the brain plays a lead role in this illness.
? Outline problem-solving techniques for clients suffering with this mental illness.
TARGET AUDIENCE- Social Workers, Licensed Nurses, Counselors and Therapists, Mental Health technicians and interested others who are involved in the treatment of PTSD.
FEE- $60 for non-members; No fee for AHEC members

CREDIT- 4 clock hours, 0.4 CEUs for AHEC; social work, counselors and therapists.
Upstate AHEC is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the South Carolina Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center?s Commission on Accreditation.
Upon successful completion of this program, attendees will receive 4 contact hours.
