Participants of this course will be able to:

1. Name 3 risk factors for back pain.

2. Demonstrate the 5 key components to perform safe lifting, bending or getting objects from a low level.

3. List 3 tools that they can use to avoid injury and assist with using proper body mechanics.

4. Demonstrate how to safely perform transfers with patients of different levels of ability.Discuss proper body mechanics for computer or desk work, and household chores such as mopping or vacuuming.

0.2 CEUs, 2 clock hours for non-social work, counselors and therapists, registered dietitians, and licensed nurses.
2.4 contact hours for Physical & Occupational Therapists.
