Purpose: To provide participants with strategies to reduce medication errors.

OBJECTIVES
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
? Outline the factors that contribute to medication errors in the clinical setting.
? Describe the importance of improved communication among healthcare providers to prevent medication errors.
? Discuss appropriate communication techniques during the medication administration process.
TARGET AUDIENCE
Licensed Nurses and Interested Others
FEE
$40 for non members; No fee for AHEC members

Licensed Nurses: Upstate AHEC is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the South Carolina Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center?s Commission on Accreditation.
Upon successful completion of this program, attendees will receive 2 contact hours.
Others: This program is approved for 0.2 CEUs (2 clock hours) by Upstate AHEC and meets the SC AHEC Best Practice Standards.
