Purpose: To provide an overview of skills needed to perform the charge nurse role.

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:
? Describe the role expectations of a charge nurse
? Identify 3 or more characteristics of an effective clinical leader
? List the keys to appropriate delegation
? Identify critical thinking skills that are important for a charge nurse
? Outline problem-solving strategies for selected clinical scenarios
? Describe 3 or more ?difficult? behavior patterns and formulate positive approaches for dealing with each.

Nursing Managers and Charge Nurses

$55 for non-members; No Fee for AHEC members

Licensed Nurses: Upstate AHEC is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by The South Carolina Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center?s Commission on Accreditation.

Upon successful completion of this program, attendees will receive 3.75 contact hours.
