“A Look at Depression Among Seniors”Click to RSVP
Start DateMay 22, 2008
Please join us for a Complimentary Lunch & Learn sponsored by Carolina Center for Behavioral Health and The Haven. May is Mental Health Month-- Michelle Morton, Director of Outreach and Education for Mental Health America of Greenville County presents our program (Certificate of Attendance Available for 1 Hour). More than two million of the 34 million Americans age 65 and older suffer from some form of depression. Unfortunately, symptoms of depression are often overlooked, misdiagnosed and untreated when they coincide with other medical illnesses or life events that commonly occur as people age. However, clinical depression is never a "normal" response; it is a serious medical illness and when left untreated it can have devastating results including suicide. Participants will be trained in the nationally recognized best practice: Question, Persuade, and Refer sucide prevention gatekeeper training. The fundamentals of QPR are easily learned and the application may save a life.
Please RSVP by Monday, May 19 to 864-467-0031 or email@example.com
