The February Adult Interagency Council will meet on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at 3 PM at The Springs at Simpsonville, 214 E. Curtis St., Simpsonville. Denise and Leah will be our hosts.
Our guest speaker will be Susan Crooks, founder of Walt’s Waltz, an Upstate South Carolina based non-profit organization with regional, national, and international reach. Walt’s Waltz ends the stigma that surrounds those with mental health struggles through professionally led educational programs, integration of the performing and visual arts, and creation of Walt’s Waltz Stigma-Free Zones, but we don’t stop there. With a goal to further reduce suffering and suicides, Walt’s Waltz advocates for equitable funding including cutting-edge research in biomarkers for more targeted advancements toward novel curative therapies we see with physical conditions.
Their mission: Walt’s Waltz is a compass and a megaphone for mental health support, education, and change. Their Mottos: Let’s stop dancing around mental health conversations; Step Out of Stigma; Take your mental health temperature; Mental Health Moonshot; Cure Brain Diseases that impact our mental health. This will be a most informative meeting that you do not want to miss!
Adult Interagency Council is an open group of professionals working with people who are disabled, underserved, or aged in the Upstate area. The purpose of the group is to learn about resources in the area that will help the people in our community. Professionals working with these groups are invited to attend. Reservations are not required but appreciated.
We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, February 15th at 3:00PM. Please bring your business cards.
