Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 20th , at 3:00PM at Autumn Leaves Memory Care Assisted Living, 352 Pelham Road, Greenville 29615. Hosts Executive Director Heather Hess, and Marketing Director Meagan Peppers, will give us an overview of services offered and invite us to tour their newly opened community which is designed exclusively for Alzheimer’s and other dementias. Our program will be presented by Travelers Rest Artist Alliance (a 501c3 Nonprofit organization). Program Director Brad Carraway is a decorated combat Veteran who served for 20 years, retiring in 2008. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina. He is a Certified Peer Support Specialist (SCDMH), and a counselor to fellow combat Veterans who also have struggled to understand and heal the emotional scars from their traumatic experiences. Mr. Carraway is active in many veterans support programs and continually exploring the use of expressive creative therapy as a form of treatment for combat induced PTSD. He also produces and exhibits Veteran themed artwork and gives educational art talks and lectures on the benefits of art as a treatment for the symptoms of PTSD. We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, June 20th at 3:00.
Adult Interagency Council is an open group of professionals working with people who are disabled or aged in the Upstate area. The purpose of the group is to learn about resources in the area that will help the people in our community. Professionals working with these groups are invited to attend.
