3:00 pm - 4:00 pmDescription
Our next Adult Interagency Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at 3:00PM at Brookdale Cleveland Park (Assisted Living/Alzheimer’s/Dementia Care) 12 Boyce Avenue, Greenville 29601.
Stacy Atwell, Senior Director of Sales and Marketing, will tell us about the services offered at Brookdale Cleveland Park and offer tours at the end of the meeting.
Our special guest will be Melissa Yetter, founder of The Service Dog Institute.
The Service Dog Institute (TSDI) was founded in 2009 by families with special needs children.
With the assistance of service dogs, these families believed it gave their child (and their family) a better quality of life and realized the benefits and the gifts they bring.
While TSDI specializes in providing service dogs to children, they have expanded their placement services to now include adults. TSDI was approached in 2013 to train a service dog for a young woman and TSDI stepped up to the challenge. Today, they have placed a number of service dogs with adults with varying needs. In 2015, TSDI started The Service Dog for Veterans program in partnership with Dog Trainers Workshop and a local Veteran's Advocate.
Adult Interagency Council is an open group of professionals working with people who are disabled or aged in the Upstate area. The purpose of the group is to learn about resources in the area that will help the people in our community. Professionals working with these groups are invited to attend.
Reservations are not required but appreciated.
We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, September 18th at 3:00.
