Five voices now speak as one for health care.

The nation?s largest health advocates are joining together to make sure the presidential candidates understand the importance of making sure all Americans have access to quality, affordable health care. AARP, the Alzheimer?s Association, the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), the American Diabetes Association and the American Heart Association represent millions of people across the county who want quality health care, and need it now. Their voices will be heard by lawmakers, candidates, policymakers, and others in a nonpartisan effort to call attention to this urgent need in our health care system.

With South Carolina?s presidential primaries approaching in January 2008, our state is being heavily traveled by the 2008 presidential candidates. Now is your best opportunity to let them hear your voice! That?s why we?re inviting you to take part in a movement for better health care.

Come to our Upstate training on Monday, September 10, to learn more about:
? The Real State of Health Care: Survivors & Their Stories
? How to Effectively Share Your Concerns with Presidential Candidates to Impact Access to Quality and Affordable Health Care

This complimentary luncheon and training will help you encourage candidates for President in 2008 to make health care reform a priority. Our joint campaign engages candidates and educates the public to urge every candidate to take this issue seriously and articulate a plan for strengthening our health coverage system. We recognize that there are many ways to achieve universal coverage, but not just any strategy will do. Whatever reform plan is adopted must work effectively for people when they are seriously and chronically ill through better quality, affordability, administrative simplicity, and be available and accessible to all.
