THE ALZHEIMER?S ASSOCIATION S. C. CHAPTER invites you to a book reading of When My Grandma Sings, written by Dr. Robena Egemonye. The book was published in 2010 by Vintage Reflections Publishing and illustrated by Judi Spooner.

This imaginative, heartfelt book introduces young readers to a difficult issue confronting families across the country?Alzheimer?s disease. It illustrates a positive solution that will leave young readers encouraged and knowledgeable. Book reading is appropriate for all children. (reading level --9-12 year olds)

About the Author
Dr. Egemonye has been an educator for over thirty years. She was nominated and selected to ?Who?s Who Among America?s Teachers? in 2005-2006 and to ?Outstanding American Teachers, National Honor Roll.? This is her first book. Her second entitled When My Grandpa Dances, will be released in 2011.

The Alzheimer?s Association will provide additional literature for children and adults regarding Alzheimer?s disease, related dementia, and resources. Refreshments will be served. A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the work of the Alzheimer?s Association South Carolina Chapter?an organization dedicated to eliminate Alzheimer?s and related dementia and to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
