The Alzheimer's Association is partnering with the Presbyterian Home at Clinton to present an educational program for the Laurens County community entitled ? Dementia: Charting the Journey . This program will be held on Wednesday, October 21st, 10:00 ? 11:30 AM in the Main Building at the Presbyterian Home, 801 Musgrove Street in Clinton.

The speaker will be Barbara Barham (RN, MS, CTS) , a psychiatric clinical nurse specialist who has both personal and professional experience working with individuals and families who are dealing with Alzheimer?s disease and other types of dementia. In her presentation, she will address the following topics:
* A brief definition of dementia
* What we can expect to experience as caregivers
* How we can care for ourselves while providing care and support for others.

To help family members attend, a no-cost, in-home sitter for a loved one with dementia can be arranged through the Alzheimer's Association.
