Evergreen Place Hosts Seminar on Financial and Legal Issues Facing Senior Adults

Greenville, S.C. ? Evergreen Place, Rolling Green Village?s special care unit for those suffering from Alzheimer?s, dementia or other memory-related diseases, is launching a new sequence of education seminars entitled Life Enrichment Series. Throughout the year, the seminars will educate families and senior adults on topics such as health, finance, future planning, overall well-being and more. The first Life Enrichment Series seminar will cover financial and legal issues facing senior adults. Elder law attorney Jackson E. ?Pete? Fields, Jr. will lead the program on Aug. 25 from 7-8 p.m. in the activity room of Rolling Green Village. The event is free and open to the public.
This seminar will cover the most important legal documents you need, the biggest mistakes made by families, the best way to protect your estate and how to care for yourself and your loved ones. It will also discuss documents such as a Living Trust, Power of Attorney, Living Will and the new HIPAA laws. In addition, you can find out ways to use long term care insurance to help pay for assisted living.
Jackson E. ?Pete? Fields, Jr. is an estate and retirement planning tax attorney with offices in Greenville and Clemson, S.C. Pete has helped more than 1,000 clients arrange their legal and financial matters to avoid mistakes with their assets and money. Fields received his Juris Doctor degree from The University of South Carolina School of Law and a Master of Law and Taxation degree from the Marshall Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary. Fields has made numerous presentations on estate planning, employee benefits, retirement planning and other tax topics. He is a member of the South Carolina Bar and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.
The seminar, sponsored by Evergreen Place, will be held Aug. 25 from 7-8 p.m. in the activities room of Rolling Green Village.
