The ARK, Alzheimer’s Family Support Services, is offering its free Powerful Tools for Caregivers series in January and February. “Powerful Tools for Caregivers” is an educational program designed to help family caregivers take care of themselves while caring for a relative or friend who has a chronic illness.

The class series meets once a week on Tuesdays, for six weeks and will be facilitated by certified leaders.
Dates: January 23, 30, February 6, 13, 20, 27
Time: 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m.

The class is free (donations accepted), but registration is required. Class size is limited; call 843-832-2357 or visit www.thearkofsc.org to register.

This program helps family caregivers reduce stress, improve self-confidence, communicate feelings better, balance their lives, increase their ability to make tough decisions, and locate helpful resources. Attendees will benefit from this class whether they are helping a parent, spouse, or friend who lives at home, in a nursing home, or across the country.
