Living Well SC is a program developed by Stanford University to help people manage any chronic health conditions, such as arthritis, high blood pressure, asthma, diabetes, emphysema, heart disease , and others. It is a 6-week workshop that consists of one class per week. Each session lasts 2 1/2 hours.
We invite each person who carries the burden of a chronic health problem to attend this informative workshop. The program has been researched for twenty years and proven to increase the health and well being of participants.
Each session is led by two trained leaders who have agreed to offer this program in partnership with DHEC and the Lt. Govenor's Office on Aging.
The workshop builds knowledge and self-confidence to manage a chronic condition. It also helps participants learn ways to increase healthy behaviors. Participants choose goals that they want to work on to improve their lives and learn problem-solving skills to achieve the goals.
