Medications often play a role in treating several mental disorders. Whether you yourself take one or more of these medications, or the person you are working with or taking care of does, it is important to understand these medications. This class will include a brief overview of several classes of medications used in the treatment of different mental illnesses, with particular attention paid to use in older adults. Types of medications covered will include antipsychotics, antidepressants, antianxiety medications, mood stabilizing medications, and Alzheimer’s medications.
