Pendleton Manor will host a lecture and open discussion about Alzheimer's Care and methods of caring for someone with Alzheimers. Guest speaker will be Jo Huey, The Alzheimer?s Advocate??, Jo has been working with persons with Alzheimer?s disease in 24-hour care settings since 1986. Through this work, became well known for her communication tool ?Ten Absolutes?. This tool provided persons with a way to enjoy the time they had together focusing on abilities not disabilities. When she faced a similar journey with her own mother she developed another set of absolutes for Caregiver Decision Making. Following the successful evacuation of a group of people for Hurricane Katrina she developed yet another Ten Absolutes for Emergency Preparedness.
