Conversations about things we can't control can actually help give us a sense of control.
It's normal to feel uncomfortable talking about a time when you may be very sick, in a serious accident or at the end of your life. Advance care planning is a process of thinking about your values, beliefs and wishes for future health and personal care, and sharing them with the people you trust. It involves learning about the types of decisions that might need to be made ahead of time if you cannot speak for yourself. It is also empowering and comforting knowing that family members will have guidance to make decisions based on your wishes.

Kristi Ford-Scales, MD serves as the director of Spartanburg Regional Hospice. She will share the importance of having a plan in place, what questions to consider, what should be included in the advance care plan. Then, she will share ways you can connect with a certified facilitator for assistance.

Submit any questions you have about advance care planning when you register and Dr. Ford-Scales will be happy to answer them at the end of her presentation. Click on the web address below to register.
