Co-Hosted by MUSC SC Safe Seniors, Clinical Forensic Program and South Carolina Legal Services, this hybrid training will provide a multidisciplinary approach to how you can identify, assess, and refer cases of confirmed or suspected elder abuse and mistreatment in South Carolina.

This event is the kick-off event of "WEAAD* Wednesdays", a statewide initiative between the SC Safe Seniors, SC Department on Aging, SC Victim Assistance Network, SC Department of Social Services, Vulnerable Adult Guardian ad Litem of SC, SC Long Term Care Ombudsman, SC Respite Coalition, SC Legal Services, Alzheimer's Association, City of Charleston Mayor's Office on Aging, SLED, FBI, and the SC Office of Attorney General!

*World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) was launched by the International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse and the World Health Organization at the United Nations. The purpose of WEAAD is to provide an opportunity for communities around the world to promote a better understanding of abuse and neglect of older persons by raising awareness of the cultural, social, economic and demographic processes affecting elder abuse and neglect.
