SomeOne Cares and LifeWay Announce Essay Contest
For Caregivers¹ Scholarships
(Ridgecrest, N.C.) Ten caregivers will be awarded full scholarships to
attend the upcoming SomeOne Cares Christian Caregivers Conference October 26-28, 2007. SomeOne Cares and LifeWay are hosting an essay contest to determine scholarship winners. Winning essays will receive an all-inclusive scholarship including: one full conference registration, all meals, and two nights¹ accommodation. Scholarships do not include transportation.
Caregivers wishing to enter the contest may submit an essay of up to 500 words on the following topic:
It's easy to feel alone while caring for a family member or friend.
Caregivers need to remember that, with God, they are never alone. Describe a time in your caregiving experience when God worked in such a way to help you understand that someone cares.
Anyone caring for someone terminally, critically, chronically ill or
physically disabled is eligible to win. All entries must be received by
September 15, 2007 via email as a MS Word attachment. The subject of your email must be: 2007 SomeOne Cares Scholarship Entry. All entries must be sent to email@example.com. Each essay must include name, address, phone number and email address on the first page. There is no fee to enter the scholarship contest. All winners will be notified by October 1, 2007. SomeOne Cares is a conference for caregivers, church staff, lay leaders, and professionals.
The conference, an opportunity for respite while participants gain better
caregiver skills, is packed with daily praise and worship, general sessions featuring passionate talks, multimedia presentations, drama, music and sculpting, over 40 concurrent workshops, resource tables, mealtime roundtable discussions, and a Friday night concert featuring Dove award-winning artist Scott Krippayne.
