Join the Greenville Area Parkinson Society at Fluor Field at the West End on Saturday, April 14th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for their fifth annual Strike Out Parkinson’s fundraiser and community walk.
This year, Strike Out Parkinson’s features live music from local cover band Descent and guest appearances from Greenville Drive players, mascot Reedy, and former Major League Baseball™ pitcher Mike Buddie, who is currently the Athletic Director at Furman University. The walk around the warning track of the baseball field will kick off with opening ceremonies hosted by Bill Love from Earth FM, who will announce the top fundraising team for this year’s fundraiser. After the walk, enjoy free food, drinks and interactive exercise demonstrations from the YMCA of Greenville PWR! program, PD on the Move taught by ballet master Alexander Tressor and a kickboxing session from Rock Steady Boxing. This event is fun for the whole family and celebrates Upstate community members living with Parkinson’s disease and their caregivers while educating all participants on how the Greenville Area Parkinson Society (GAPS) supports them.
GAPS invites the Upstate community to register for the walk and participate in a fundraiser by setting up a team or making a general donation online at www.strikeoutpd.com.
