The new Seneca Chapter of the Upstate Senior Network will have their forth meeting this Wednesday, Oct. 4th at noon.

This month?s speaker will be Al Watson, CEO of the Mental Health Association for Anderson County.
Al will present, QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer), a model of suicide prevention. In this training, one will become familiar with:
a) Recognizing the signs and factors present in suicidal intent,
b) Recognizing factors that help prevent individuals from completing suicide,
c) How to question a person concerning suicidal intent,
d) How to persuade a person to receive help for suicidal intent,
e) How to refer a person with suicidal intent for help, and,
f) How to get help for those who refuse assistance including
confidentiality and legal issues.

Our lunch sponsor for Oct. will be Laura with Alterra Sterling House. The meeting location is at the new Carolina Home Health Care office at 10 Accountants Circle in The Commons, Seneca.
