Join us for our October networking meeting and remember our community partner, the Laurens Memorial Home. They are currently in need of individual snacks-crackers, applesauce, fruit, etc. They could also use men’s razors and inexpensive aftershave like Old Spice, Aqua Velva or
English Leather, anything. They currently have 20 men and 12 women. With the holidays inching up on us, let's step up and see what we can help them with!
Our lunch sponsors for this month's meeting will be Deborah Bolten with NHC Clinton and Amy Minor with NHC HomeCare. NHC Healthcare Clinton is a 131 bed skilled nursing facility in Clinton, SC. They provide a wide array of services to include Skilled Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Respite Care, Outpatient Rehab services and others. Their licensed professionals are available to provide care whether a patient is recovering after a hospital visit or in need of long term care. NHC HomeCare provides PT, OT, ST, skilled nursing, Social Services, and CNA. They also have a psychiatric nurse on staff. Their local office is located in Laurens County. They also serve Greenville, Anderson, Pickens, Oconee, Newberry, Greenwood, Abbeville, and Spartanburg Counties.
Our educational speaker will be Dr. Brian Weirick with the Upstate Wound Healing Center. He will be talking to us about "Common Health Issues of the Elderly - What to Look For".
