Provide information about and assistance with, issues related to Medicare, Medicaid, and supplemental health insurance. These issues include, but are not limited to, eligibility and enrollment, covered services, prescription drug assistance, Medicare fraud and abuse, appeal procedures, and help for low-income persons. Provide one-on-one counseling sessions in person, at designated sites or by phone or during special enrollment events. Direct involvement in activities associated with the Medicare Rx, Medicare Fraud, and I CARE programs. Conduct presentations before groups. Assist consumers by completing in-take application, assessing needs, determining eligibility, researching available options, and directing consumers to appropriate aging or disability services. Input/update information in the I, R & A and SHIPtalk assistance databases. Assist with Aging and Disabilities Resource Center functions. Serve as resource for agencies/individuals requesting information. Ability to carry out assignments and duties independently and without direct supervision. Perform other duties as assigned by the Aging Director. Recruit, train and utilize volunteers to enhance program.

Minimum two years relevant work experience:
Bachelors Degree in Public or Business Administration, Community Planning, Social Sciences, or related field, and two years of directly related experience; OR equivalent combination of training and experience with demonstrated competence to fulfill duties of position.
