Position Description

SPARTANBURG HOUSING AUTHORITY is seeking qualified candidates for this F/T position to provide ongoing support, advocacy & guidance to program members, through AmeriCorps service activities & mentor matches, in order to help them deal with personal, legal & social service needs, especially those that interfere with their ability to become self-sufficient; to help participants become aware of the value of their service, & to work closely with their mentor & the entire staff to build the youths' leadership skills.

Required Experience

• Responsibilities include but not limited to: recruitment & eligibility assessment of participants & mentors, data entry & management, program marketing & presentations. Must have excellent written & oral communication skills. Bachelor’s degree in counseling or related field, or equivalent work experience with young adults. Valid driver’s license, clean background checks
