Hospice of the Carolina Foothills (EOE) is seeking a full time CNA to provide care to patients in homes and area facilities in Polk County, NC. This position will also assist in our upstate SC service area as needed. The Home Health Aide/Homemaker (a Certified Nursing Assistant) assists hospice patients and families with personal care tasks by carrying out duties assigned by the nurse in order to increase the level of patient comfort, maintain good personal hygiene and a safe environment. The individual must be organized and able to work independently. Aide services are based on the Registered Nurse's initial and ongoing assessments of the patient's personal care needs, ability to perform activities of daily living and supervision of care.

We are looking for candidates that understand and are committed to the hospice philosophy and its concept of care. Applicants should have the ability to work within a team environment as well as independently and should be willing to be flexible in their duties.

To be considered, applicants for this position are required to have a minimum of a high school or general equivalency diploma and must be certified in North Carolina and in South Carolina as a nursing assistant. One year experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant under supervision is required. Experience in a home setting, geriatrics and end of life care is preferred. Applicants must have a current driver's license & auto insurance and must maintain a clean driving record. Certification in hospice and palliative care is desirable (CHPNA).
