Hospice Care of South Carolina seeks a highly motivated individual to oversee all sales and business development operations in the Spartanburg County area. The Community Relations Liaison is directly responsible for the overall education of the physicians, health care providers, and the general public about the hospice benefit. The Community Relations Liaison is responsible to plan, coordinate and implement the hospice program within an assigned geographic area. The position requires a current conceptual knowledge of the hospice philosophy and the changes and trends in the Hospice Medicare Benefit. Participation in continuing education is a vital component of the successful implementation of a marketing and public relations program.
Required Experience
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:An Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in public relations, marketing, or other related fields is preferred. Acceptable combinations of experience and/or training may be considered in lieu of formal educational achievements
Minimum of five (5) years experience in sales and referral/business development
Proven, consistent and measurable track record of success in finding, signing and growing business
Outside sales experience required
Healthcare background preferred
Ability to follow written and oral instructions. Ability to effectively communicate to others, both in writing and orally.
Ability to conceptualize the hospice philosophy and to communicate the concept to others effectively, and with desired results.
Ability to maintain habits of personal cleanliness and safe work practices.
Ability to maintain poise and demeanor appropriate to portray an image of professionalism as defined by the Company.
Must be able to work 40 hours per week, plus extended hours when the demand requires.
Must have a reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and current auto insurance. May have prolonged periods of sitting and driving.
Ability to lift equipment and supplies with weights up to 20 pounds. May move objects from a lower to higher position or along horizontal level position to position. May be subject to falls, infectious diseases, or unpleasant odors throughout the workday.
