Due to the promotion of Kimberly Williams to Senior Director of Development, the Alzheimer's Association, South Carolina Chapter is seeking to fill the vacated Upstate Director of Development position.

The Upstate Director of Development is responsible for supporting all Alzheimer’s Association development initiatives in Upstate, SC. This includes being the primary staff coordinator for three Walk to end Alzheimer’s events, the signature fundraising event of the Association, held in Anderson, Spartanburg and Rock Hill each fall, in addition to providing secondary support for other development initiatives as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Recruit, coordinate and support all special event fundraising efforts in Upstate, SC using personal contacts, networking events, past participant database, chapter office contacts, and creative outreach methods
• Work directly with volunteer event committees for each event to help in reaching in effort to reach event revenue goals
• Maintain organized files on benchmarks and progress towards achieving revenue goals
• Manage correspondence with event sponsors and participants
• Manage the donation database as gifts come in for events
• Load, unload, move & setup event materials with limited or no assistance

SKILLS NEEDED:
• Ability to empower and lead volunteers
• Excellent computer skills and the ability to learn new software programs
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work well with staff, volunteers and clients
• Good interpersonal skills and ability
• Ability to prioritize and remain flexible while managing multiple tasks
• Strong organization skills
• Detail-oriented
• Ability to lift a minimum of 20lbs
