The Housekeeper is responsible for the daily upkeep of resident apartments and all common areas throughout the community to ensure all areas are clean, neat, sanitary and safe for residents, guests and team members. Adheres to customer service philosophy by providing excellent customer service to Residents and their Families as well as Team Members.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Cleaning and maintaining residential apartments, main common areas and other duties as assigned.
-Clean occupied residential apartments including bathrooms, bedrooms and living areas
-Prepare apartments for move-ins as assigned
-Remove trash from apartments
-Change and launder bedding and towels
-Wash all windows, inside and out, on a regular basis
-Wipe all handrails in building weekly
-Vacuum hallways on regular basis and/or as needed
-Clean elevators daily
-Clean/sanitize public restrooms daily
-Coordinate housekeeping services with other departments as needed
-Notify manager of any hazardous issues, change in resident status and other situations that would warrant attention
-Maintain a positive demeanor toward residents and guests, respecting individual confidentiality, dignity and rights

Required Experience
Education:-High school diploma or GED preferred
Experience:
-1 to 2 years of housekeeping experience in a similar environment preferred
-Experience working with seniors helpful
-Experience working in a customer service focused environment
Other knowledge, skills, abilities or certifications:
-Must be able to communicate in written and spoken English
-Must be comfortable working in an environment with pets, including, but not limited to, dogs, cats and birds
-Ability to demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills
-Willing to demonstrate passion and ability to work with people with Alzheimer's disease and other dementia-related diseases
-Must be at least 18 years of age
-Must be able to obtain First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days, when required
Must meet standard requirements such as background checks, drug screening, physical and TB testing where required
