General Summary: Seeking a reliable, assertive and customer oriented individual to represent our practice with professionalism. This employee must be driven, poised, articulate, and possess the strongest of communication skills. The professional will be able to multi-task effortlessly, prioritize efficiently, handle all inbound calls, patient requests, place outbound calls to patients, and handle all administrative tasks with a smile.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Adheres to and supports the mission, purpose, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of the practice.
Adheres to the HIPAA Compliance Plan and the Privacy Standards Confidentiality Agreement.
Greets patients immediately as first point of contact while handling high volume of incoming calls.
Communicates professionally and effectively with patients.
Responds to questions and concerns and directs them to the appropriate department.
Collects complete, accurate and up to date demographic, insurance, clinical and billing information from patients.
Communicates with clinical staff and/or provider to optimize efficiency and effectiveness in scheduling.
Utilizes electronic health record for tasks assigned.
Check patients in verifying demographics and insurance.
Completes referrals and authorizations as needed.
Collects co-pays and patient payments.
Performs other tasks as assigned.


High school diploma/GED
Medical practice scheduling experience.
Must have a minimum of two years of experience in a medical office environment.
Basic understanding of medical terminology.
with EMR systems.
Understanding of documentation required for physician office visits.

Excellent multi-tasking and time management skills.
Possess a high level of organizational skills.
Ability to exercise a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve organizational objectives.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical and administrative staff.
Must be able to work well independently and be detailed-oriented, but also interact well with a team.
Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.

Medical Receptionist: 2 years (Preferred)
Customer Service: 2 years (Preferred)
Durable Medical Equipment Experience (Required)
