Part Time Palliative Care Administrative Assistant

The Palliative Care Administrative Assistant plays a key role in providing program organization and information management as well as facilitating communication among the program staff, organization as a whole and the medical community. The individual must possess a keen ability to be organized, methodical in assigned task area, able to prioritize tasks, and work independently. The indiviudal, under indirect supervision performs a variety of administrative and clerical functions with most phases of activities related to daily operation. This is a part time position(apx. 20 hours per week).

Must have a minimum of a high school (or general eqivalency) diploma, preferably a two year associate degree in a related field.
Minimum of one year experience in a medical environment, interacting with patients preferred.
Experience with physician billing/coding preferred
Excellent computer skills, familiar with basic office practices, procedures and equipment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, logic and reasoning.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Understanding of palliative care philosophy and community-based program.
Ability to perform duties and remain calm under pressure.
Flexibility and cross-training essential.
