Responsible for the day-to-day coordination, leadership, and administration of the respite social day program for persons with Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia.
Responsibilities include:
• Oversee participant intake, screening, and discharge process
• Plan and execute the daily delivery of the program and its activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization
• Organize and lead group projects, discussions, games and activities
• Interact with participants on a one-to-one basis
• Assist to recruit, interview and select well-qualified program volunteers
• Develop supportive relationships with caregivers
• Oversee the collection and maintenance of records on all program participants
• Work within the budget to procure needed supplies for activities, meals and care supplies
Required Experience
• 2-5 years’ experience in providing social services to people with memory loss and their loved ones• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in a human services field of study
• Good interpersonal communication skills
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and familiarity with Google Docs
