The Spartanburg Housing Authority has an immediate opening for a Senior and Disabled Service Coordinator. Under minimal supervision, this position manages services for elderly and disabled residents living in Spartanburg Housing Authority public housing communities. Employee will coordinate the planning, organizing, and implementing of the delivery of services, programs, and strategies to improve the quality of life for elderly and disabled residents. This includes programs, services, activities, and individual referrals. Employee needs to develop and deliver a broad spectrum of programs targeting Activities of Daily Living, Health, Financial, Nutritional, and Computer Education, as well as Outreach programs to target all needs of this population. Employee will develop and maintain community relationships with organizations which can provide services to the elderly and disabled residents.
Required ExperienceBachelor?s Degree and two to three years relevant experience in coordination of services for Senior or Disabled clients; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Basic knowledge of a public housing assistance program is preferred. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Applications and working knowledge of supportive services and other community resources is needed. Determination and ability to multi-task and organize are crucial to this position, as well as a positive outlook and a high energy personality.
