The Therapeutic Recreation Specialist is responsible for the organization, implementation and evaluation of Therapeutic Recreation Services to patients for whom abilities to cope with tasks of living are impaired by physical, social, emotional or cognitive limitations. The Recreation Therapist provides care utilizing appropriate developmental approaches to adult and geriatric patients referred by physicians. Work also includes general recreation services for patients in the Geriatric Psychiatric Unit. All duties and responsibilities are to be carried out with empathy and compassion towards patients and their families as well as co-workers.
Required Experience
Education: BS/BA in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Therapy or Recreation Administration"Experience: One year of clinical experience working as a Certified Therapeutic
Recreation Specialist is desirable.
