•Manages all daily activities of the volunteer program and ensures all services are offered in a timely manner.
•Completes volunteer assessments for all newly admitted patients within the established time frames and assigns a suitable volunteer if requested and as available.
•Develops an annual volunteer program plan that identifies opportunities for additional and improved services including volunteer recruitment, retention and training.
•Ensures new volunteers are screened, orientated and trained.
•Assists in preparing, planning, and implementing special projects for the organization and demonstrates an ability to be flexible and effective in integrating new volunteer programs.
•Assures adequate direct patient care volunteers are available to meet the needs of patients/caregivers and the program.

•A bachelor's degree and one year of hospice, healthcare, volunteer management and/or related experience.
•Ability to supervise, coordinate and evaluate volunteer services.
•Ability to manage a group of individuals providing volunteer time and who will be considered staff members
