Position Description

White Oak Village Independent Living Community is seeking a Wellness Coordinator to develop and implement a new integrated, whole-person wellness program for it's residents, focusing on physical, social and emotional wellbeing promoted through individual and group exercise, outings and social activities.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to developing and teaching group exercise classes, securing appropriate instructors for group exercise classes, exercise equipment orientation, planning and executing a monthly activity calendar that integrates physical and social activities both on and off campus, motivating and encouraging residents to participate in activities.

Must be energetic, creative, self-motivated and have the ability to problem-solve independently. Must enjoy working as a team. Must be patient, caring and attentive and enjoy working with older adults

Required Experience

Qualified candidate would have a degree in exercise science/physiology, wellness promotion, recreational therapy, or related field with primary certifications and or experience.

Preferred: Senior Fitness Specialist, ACSM, AFAA, ASFA, ACE. Experience considered in lieu of some certifications. Experience working with older adults a plus.

Basic computer skills necessary. Must have a valid drivers license and a clean DMV record. CPR required.
