Adopt A Senior with Senior Action

November 11, 2005

Senior Action is working to make this holiday season a special one for lonely, homebound seniors across the Greenville community. Last year Senior Action, with the generous donations of over 75 businesses and general public gift and monetary donations made the holiday season a brighter one for over 100 seniors that may not otherwise have received anything for the holidays. The Senior Action ?Adopt-A-Senior? Program entails a visit to a homebound senior from a Senior Action staff member or volunteer who delivers a Holiday gift box filled with special gifts for the holiday season. In order to make this holiday season a special one Senior Action is looking to the community for help. We need individuals, groups of co-workers, organizations, churches, or others, interested in helping those seniors who are alone and isolated during this holiday season.

Adopting a senior is an easy process. You can either:

? Adopt a specific senior and purchase specific new items based on their needs ($100 minimum per senior to sponsor)

? Donate a holiday box to a senior. A holiday box may include: gift cards for local stores, postage stamps, personal hygiene items, warm socks, food, lap blankets or any items you decide. The box size is up to you, but bigger is always better!

Then call Sheila Lewis or LaToya Knuckles at Senior Action 467-3660 to signup to help a local senior. Donated gifts need to be delivered to Senior Action by December 12, 2005. Donations are then delivered to the senior's home by Senior Action staff and/or volunteers in time for the holidays.
With your help, we can make this a happy holiday for many seniors of Greenville County in need. Sponsored by Senior Action, Inc. and supported by the Greenville community.
