Southern Eye Associates is proud to announce that Dr. William Steigerwald, a board-licensed optometrist, has joined their team of eye care physicians and surgeons. ? Dr. Steigerwald earned his undergraduate degree at Belmont Abbey College and received his Doctor of Optometry at The New England College of Optometry in Boston. ?He?graduated with honors and completed clinical rotations at the University of Maryland Dept. of Ophthalmology and the VA Medical Center. ??He has received grants for his research work on?near-sightedness using electrophysiology and has been published or lectured on a variety of eye health issues. ?Dr. Steigerwald ?and his family are?relocating to Greenville from Roanoke, Virginia where he was a doctor at Newman, Blackstock, and Associates, PC. since 2006. ?At Southern Eye Associates, Dr. Steigerwald will provide primary eye care including treatment of?ocular diseases, dry eye management, specialty contact lens fittings, and low vision services. ??He has a special interest in working?with children with learning disabilities and has served as a Director for the Blue Ridge Autism and Achievement Center.
