Meals on Wheels to Reach 10 Millionth Meal Milestone

On October 24, Meals on Wheels of Greenville is set to deliver its 10 millionth meal in Greenville County. In celebration of this tremendous feat, and the numerous volunteers, staff and donors that made this possible, the organzation set a campaign to collect 10 million pennies towards the 10 millionth meal.

Meals on Wheels was established in 1968 to deliver meals to the homebound and elderly. First operating out of Westminster Presbyterian Church on Augusta Road, it has now grown to a volunteer corps of over 2000 volunteers serving over 1400 homebound clients in the county. The organization does not charge for any of the meals delivered, and instead is funded through private donations and grants.
