Medical Transportation Available for Seniors
Release Date
Senior Action hosts the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) which provides medical transportation for seniors. Volunteers will pick up individuals identified through Senior Action from their homes and will take them to medical appointments, the pharmacy, and then back home. RSVP provides (secondary) insurance for volunteers. Volunteer drivers use their own vehicles, averaging 5?10 hours a month.
If you know of someone who is in need of being transported to medical appointments, please have them call Ray Snipes at Senior Action at 335-5010.
RSVP is sponsored by the federal government and Senior Action, placing people (age 55 & older) out into the community to change lives.
For more information or to become a volunteer, please contact Mary Zachar at mary.zachar@senioraction.org.
