New Respite Opportunity

December 1, 2019

The definition of RESPITE is a period of temporary delay; an interval of rest or relief.

Those that care for someone with Alzheimer's or related dementia take on a lot during a daily basis. One thing that they don't usually do? Take care of themselves. That is where we step in! The Alzheimer's Association has teamed up with the Elite Day Center.

Elite Day Center is a medical day service provider specializing in the care of seniors. Starting in January, they have graciously offered to open up their Greer site every Thursday from 8am-12pm for those families that need some time to themselves for a much needed respite break from the daily care of their loved one with mid/moderate dementia. Your family member will be cared for by their professional and caring staff during this time...they will participate in the group activities as well as enjoy a nutritious snack.

Space is limited to 8 participants; Cost is $20 per session; For more information about the logistics of the Respite Day, please call the center at 864-529-9144

For information about the Alzheimer's Association's support groups, educational programs, caregiver appreciation nights, early stage engagement, early stage support group for persons living with early stage dementia, and much more, please call the 24/7 Helpline at 800-272-3900
