SC Gerontological Society Scholarship

The South Carolina Gerontological Society sponsors an annual scholarship for students majoring in or studying gerontology. As a non-profit organization dedicated to educating professionals and older adults about aging issues, we are committed to supporting students interested in a career in gerontology or the aging field.

We invite you to encourage any students studying gerontology to apply for this $1000.00 scholarship to assist in school expenses. We are seeking students who demonstrate a passion for working with the aging and foster ideas that promote positive change in aging issues.

Eligibility requirements: Must be a legal resident of SC and must be enrolled in a certification program or major in gerontology. In addition to the application form, please provide two letters of recommendation, a one page narrative on current and future work in gerontology and documentation on how scholarship will be applied. The deadline for application is October 29, 2010. The award notification will be made prior to December 31, 2010 and the funds shall be awarded to the student payable to the institution the student is attending.
