Sponsors Needed for Elder Abuse Law Enforcement Trainings

January 23, 2018

In 2018, all Charleston Police Department officers are mandated to attend an Ending Abuse in Later Life training. This eight-hour training, developed by the U.S. Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women; the National Clearinghouse to End Abuse in Later Life; and the Federal Law Enforcement Center provides law enforcement with information and strategies to more effectively recognize and investigate elder abuse cases.

We are seeking sponsors to provide snacks and/or lunch each month for 45 officers during this intense training session. The schedule for trainings is below:

February 9
March 9
April 6
May 4
June 1
July 6
August 3
Sept 21
Oct 19
Nov 16
Dec 7

Sponsorships can be made through in-kind or monetary donations. Sponsors will be recognized during the training opening and breaks, and training signage. Sponsors will also have the opportunity to provide promotional materials/items for distribution at the training.

If you are interested in sponsoring a lunch for law enforcement, please contact Cheryl O'Donnell at 843-577-2234 or odonnellc@charleston-sc.gov.

Note: This training is strictly for law enforcement officers in the Charleston Police Department. If you are an officer with another jurisdiction interested in attending a training, please contact Cheryl O'Donnell at 843-577-2234 or odonnellc@charleston-sc.gov.
