Update on Local Alzheimer’s Association Support Groups

The Alzheimer's Association Caregiver Support Groups are free and open to anyone caring for a person with Alzheimer's or related dementia. If you need an in-home care sitter in order to attend, learn how to access this service at no cost by calling the Alzheimer's Association at least 2 weeks in advance at 800-272-3900

CHANGE-UP DUE TO HOLIDAY:
The Clemson Downs Group (150 Downs Blvd. Corley Activity Center) will meet on January 8th instead of January 1st. Keith Moreland will be the guest speaker at this meeting. He is living with younger-onset Alzheimer's and lives with his wife in Anderson. He is actively involved with the local chapter of the Alzheimer's Association with the classes and Connections Group. He serves on the Alzheimer's Association Early Stage Advisory Board as the representative for South Carolina. He is also working on making Anderson County a "Dementia Friendly" city. He has a phenomenal story that you don't want to miss.

CANCELLED GROUP:
Unfortunately, due to lack of attendance, the evening support group on the 4th Tuesday at 6pm at the Family Healthcare Center in Ware Shoals is cancelled. We are hoping that there will be another opportunity available in the future.

TIME CHANGE:
Beginning February 6th, the Prisma Health Center for Success in Aging Group (255 Enterprise Blvd, Greenville) will meet at 2pm. Please contact the facilitator, Diana Jahries for further questions: 864-454-8120

POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE:
Due to lack of attendance this group will be postponed until further notice. We are hoping to offer more of an educational component in the future in hopes that this will encourage families to come out.
